About This Campaign

You can help us make a difference in the lives of youth in a hard-to-reach, insecure location in the northern part of Kenya! Your donations will help provide prizes like trophies, jerseys and balls to encourage the youth as they gather for the tournament. Our aim is to achieve holistic transformation of individuals within different communities through local football outreach. One area we have worked in for many years is Garissa County. With a young population living in a region buffeted by insecurity, many are struggling with sufficient income that would be able to sustain their livelihoods, others have difficulty going to school to attain a decent education and become self-sufficient in life. In our experience, due to idleness and hopelessness, we have seen youth joining gang related groups and engaging in crime, or ending up becoming addicted to drugs and alcohol, while some end up becoming radicalised due to religious doctrines. We feel called to serve the youth in this community by being a faithful presence, organising tournaments, connecting with coaches, working with the federation, and partnering with local organisations to use football to bring people together and share messages of hope and peace. Since 2009 Ambassadors has been running football related programs with the main emphasis being our our Amani Peace Tournament. Our impact over the years can be best summarised by our Outreach Director, Adan, one of our staff who lived and coached in Garissa for 5 years before coming to Nairobi, “My phone is always ringing with coaches and players asking when we are going to organise the next tournament. We are one of the only tournaments in the area that start and finish with promises being met.” Some of Adan’s former players are leaders in the community now, working in local businesses and coaching teams of their own. As we continue to ask how we can serve this community we are planning to host our month-long tournament starting July 3rd. Would you consider giving to make this tournament a success?
