About This Campaign
Pursue Unity is an annual campaign where a group of scholars and supporters walk the entire length of Western Ave. in Chicago to raise funds and awareness for the emerging leaders of Pursue Scholars.
The campaign is a physical challenge that aims to expose youth awareness among Chicago's diverse neighborhoods through leadership development and community collaboration. The 24-mile journey of 197 blocks leads walkers through a diverse landscape of neighborhoods and allows interaction with various cultures, some of which are home to Pursue Scholars and alumni.
“I want to challenge myself and others to take advantage of opportunities for learning and building connections that life presents us with. One of the most valuable things we can do is continue to grow and learn from people with different backgrounds. We should bring light to what makes every person unique and utilize our differences in a positive way to build unity among our community.” Parker Parrillo.
