Our Story

Africa Child Foundation Mission of Tanzania (ACFMT) is fundraising to address urgent and long-standing challenges affecting vulnerable children in Tanzania, especially those in rural and underserved communities. Many children go to school without food, lack access to inclusive education, and face high risks of dropout, poor performance, and protection issues such as neglect and poverty-related vulnerabilities. The School Feeding & Child Protection Programme is designed to respond to these urgent needs by ensuring that children receive daily nutritious meals, which directly improves attendance, concentration, and learning outcomes. At the same time, the project strengthens child protection systems and supports children with disabilities to access education equally. A major special issue this project addresses is food insecurity in schools, which remains a critical barrier to education for thousands of children. Without immediate intervention, many children—especially those from poor families—continue to suffer hunger in school, leading to school dropout and long-term poverty cycles. Additionally, the project responds to the lack of inclusive education support for children with disabilities, ensuring they are not left behind in learning and development. It also contributes to policy advocacy on school feeding and child protection systems, aiming to create long-term national impact beyond the project period. We are therefore seeking funding to scale this intervention across 450 primary schools, reaching 360,000 children over five years, ensuring every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment
