Learn About Education

Education is a powerful tool that can transform lives and communities, and there have been many positive developments in education worldwide. According to UNESCO, the number of children out of school has declined from 60 million in 2000 to 258 million in 2018, with more children than ever before gaining access to primary and secondary education. In addition, there has been a significant increase in the number of girls receiving education, with the gender gap in primary education almost closed in many countries. The quality of education is also improving, with many countries investing in teacher training and curriculum development to ensure that students receive a well-rounded education that prepares them for the challenges of the modern world. The digital revolution has also opened up new opportunities for education, with online learning platforms and educational resources making education more accessible and flexible. These positive trends indicate that education is becoming increasingly accessible and equitable, and that there is a growing recognition of the importance of education in promoting individual and societal development.

SAINT PETERS, Missouri

Dave Nee Foundation

A principal reason for the high suicide rate in the United States is a glaring lack of sufficiently candid discussion about, and early treatment of, depression. We hope to spread the message that depression and thoughts of harming oneself are common and that treatment for depressed and suicidal thoughts must become socially acceptable. We believe that friends, colleagues, and family members should know how and when they can intervene if they think a friend, colleague or family member might be struggling with depression, substance use and/or suicidal thoughts.
