Our Mission

Girls on the Run-DC inspires girls to be healthy, joyful, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

Who We Are

Since our inception in 2006, Girls on the Run-DC has empowered over 20,000 girls across all eight wards of Washington, DC and in Prince George's County. We envision and work towards a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential. It is our mission to dismantle the barrier of income disparity by finding ways to provide program scholarships for girls. We believe in the limitless potential of each girl we serve and focus on strengths and abilities rather than risks or challenges. Our goal is for ALL girls to be able to participate in Girls on the Run, regardless of their family's financial status. Each season, over 73% of our girls receive a program scholarship and are only able to participate in our life-changing program because of supporters like YOU.
