Our Mission

We strive to obey God's command to care for orphans by providing orphan and adoption awareness, support for orphaned children through building orphan care communities, orphan prevention, and serving as a resource for families seeking adoption.

Who We Are

In His Hands Orphan Outreach began in 2004 when executive director, Michelle McGowan felt prompted by the Lord to help orphans by starting her own organization. She recalls the moment she met a young Chinese orphan who had no feet. Little did she know this orphan lost her feet due to frostbite because the orphanage could not afford to keep it warm. This placed an incredible burden on Michelle's heart. Since then, Michelle has been leading the organization to help orphans around the world including China, Haiti, India, Ukraine, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Ethiopia, and the US foster care system.
