Surgical Volunteers International is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that was established in 2007 with the goal of providing quality surgical care free of charge in underserved countries . Our goal is to restore functionality and ensure a higher quality of life to those whom we serve. What distinguishes us is our team of highly skilled, committed volunteers who reside in every corner of the globe, yet come together with the common purpose of assisting people and communities in need. We work very closely with the medical professionals in the host countries to empower them through education, training, and material resources. We are a grass roots organization with an all volunteer board based in Houston that pride ourselves on the judicious use of resources so that the primary beneficiaries of these resources are the patients and the communities we serve.
