The CENTER FOR WHITLEY COUNTY YOUTH INC

Since 2005, The Center has been a community partner in youth development, giving teens a place to fit in, offering words of encouragement and challenge, tapping into untapped leadership potential, preparing them for what employers need, and helping them to become healthier in body, mind, and spirit. We operate with minimal paid staffing because we have more than 80 community adults who invest their time and talents regularly because they believe in the mission, and want the best for area youth. The Center has been awarded for its consistent, creative, and cost-effective results: 2012 Greg Woll Excellence in Leadership Award- Whitley County Youth for Christ 2011 "Show Us Your Results" Challenge Winner- Dekko Foundation (1-5 winners from 100 applicants in 5 states) 2008 "Best Program" Award- Northeast Region of the Governor's Commission for a Drug-Free Indiana 2006 "Jewel of the Community" Award- Columbia City Area Chamber of Commerce
