Amazima Ministries

Amazima Ministries

Amazima Ministries International was founded by Katie Davis in 2008. The organization, based out of Franklin, Tennessee, feeds, educates and encourages the orphaned, poor and vulnerable in the country of Uganda. The name we chose for this ministry represented what she longed to see take root in the lives of everyone who came in contact with our ministry. In Luganda, the local language, Amazima (Ah-mah-zeemah) means “truth.” Amazima Ministries desires to reveal the truth of God’s unconditional love through Jesus Christ to the people of Uganda. We show our love for God by obeying His command to care for the least of His people and make disciples of all nations. Every outreach program of Amazima Ministries, whether education sponsorship, feeding, vocational assistance or community outreach, is accompanied by Biblical teaching and spiritual encouragement. We know that nourishing the physical needs of these people is not the ultimate goal. We long to see them fed spiritually and restored into a right relationship with God.

NEW HOPE UGANDA MINISTRIES INC

NEW HOPE UGANDA MINISTRIES INC

“A Father to the fatherless… is God in His holy habitation. He sets the lonely in families.” Psalm 68:5-6a Uganda has a monumental orphan crisis. While many see the orphans as the problem, New Hope Uganda recognizes the deeply-rooted cultural sickness, and the orphan situation is a severe symptom. What is this sickness? Simply put, it is a sin-ravaged culture where the Biblical design for family has been essentially destroyed. New Hope understands that societal transformation through the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the only solution to the problem of fatherlessness in Uganda and around the world. Through our various initiatives, New Hope Uganda reaches orphaned, vulnerable, abandoned and special needs children and their communities with the Gospel of Jesus and the Fatherhood of God.

Strategies for Youth, Inc

Strategies for Youth, Inc

STRATEGIES FOR YOUTH is the only national non-profit training and policy organization that exists exclusively to improve police/youth interactions and to reduce disproportionate minority contact. In 2014, the tension and mistrust between police and youth escalated due to events in Ferguson, MD, and Cleveland, OH. Ordinary encounters have become flashpoints for conflict. An undeniable conclusion drawn from the events of 2014 is that addressing police/youth interactions is a necessity. Strategies for Youth (SFY) has demonstrated, through training programs for both law enforcement officers and youth, that de-escalating these encounters is key to positive outcomes for youth and public safety.
