We seek to ‘work ourselves out of a job’, and we believe the need for our organization can one day no longer exist. We exhibit faithful stewardship over everything God has entrusted to our care, including people and possessions. We empower, educate, equip, and enrich those who are most impoverished through hope, community strength, and growth regardless of race or religion. Our participants give back to our organization, their communities, or both in the same spirit from which they received.

Men Can Stop Rape

Men Can Stop Rape (MCSR) seeks to mobilize men to use their strength for creating cultures free from violence, especially men’s violence against women. In 1997, the founders of MCSR pioneered a different way of addressing the epidemic of violence against women. Though the majority of violent acts against women are committed by men, most prevention efforts are risk-reduction and self-defense tactics directed at women. The founders wanted to shift the responsibility of deterring harm away from women by promoting healthy, nonviolent masculinity. Their vision offered a plan for prevention that outlines positive, proactive solutions for engaging men as allies and inspiring them to feel motivated to end men’s violence against women. More than a decade later, MCSR continues to successfully mobilize male youth to prevent men’s violence against women; inspire young men to create their own positive definitions of masculinity; develop healthy relationships with others; embrace the concept of personal responsibility; work in partnership with female peers; and do their part to end violence and build safe communities.

Vincent House

Vincent House offers a holistic approach to transforming lives of adults affected by mental health challenges. Participants at Vincent House have access to the entire range of training opportunities in our Recovery through Work Partnership, including socialization, work, education, and shared responsibility. Vincent House members develop skills, achieve educational goals, obtain paid employment, find friendship, pursue careers and lead purposeful lives. Vincent House is a family-founded, not-for-profit organization that relies on a financial partnership with members and their families. Tuition covers approximately one half the actual cost of services; financial assistance is available to eligible applicants and their families. Vincent House leads adults with mental illness on a journey to wellness, with work being the core healing process.
