Other Side Academy
The Other Side Academy is a 2 1/2-year self-sustaining, vocation and life skills training program for men and women determined to break their cycle of long-term criminal behavior, substance abuse, and homelessness. Participants are housed, fed, and clothed all free of charge with financial support derived from our student-run social enterprises. We address long-term whole person change within the context of daily work and community living. Our students receive real-time behavioral and social interaction feedback consistently. Senior students and staff teach from lived experience and use radical candor to work through communication issues and correct dysfunctional thinking.

At Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS), we are grateful for the generosity of our volunteers and mentors alike. Our goals are to match more than 100 children with dedicated volunteer mentors, to increase the communities awareness of our services, and to build partnerships with community organizations and businesses alike. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Racine and Kenosha Counties is dedicated to establishing successful community-based mentoring relationships for youth in need, which help build brighter futures, better schools and stronger communities for all. We are actively recruiting volunteer mentors-men, women and couples-to be matched with one of the 70 children on our waiting list. The Lighthouse Community
The Lighthouse is a faith-based nonprofit 501-(c)3 ministry of FARRR Foundation, and a Trauma-Informed Care organization serving communities since 2008. The mission of the Lighthouse Community is to serve all persons in crisis with basic necessities, support, encouragement, and remedial services that lead to self-sustaining and dignified lives. We aim to educate our communities about the impact of trauma on clients, co-workers, friends, family, and even ourselves. Understanding the impact of trauma is an important first step in becoming a compassionate and supportive community.
