NourishED Research Foundation

The NourishED Research Foundation, Inc. (NRFi) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 99-2669462) that uses research to change the conversation around eating disorders and their social justice roots. We believe knowledge is nourishing and we prioritize research activities, findings, tools and skills (including research literacy) in each arm of our organization, leveraging research findings to empower breakthroughs in eating disorder awareness, understanding, prevention, treatment access, and clinical and lived experiences. We do this through a four-armed approach that aims to fill in gaps recognized in clinical research care in each of teh following areas and ways: (1) We provide free/low-cost virtually-accessible whole health resources for folks with low access ("entrusting your health into your hands"). (2) We provide clinical resources and trainings for providers that improve detection, screeining, diagnosis, treatment planning, stigma and other systemic barriers to care. (3) We use inclusive research to provide a more complete understanding of eating disorder pathology and treatment needs (including the 85-95% of folks who go undiagnosed, untreated, and historically are excluded from research samples). (4) We use social media campaigns and education outreach initiatives to change the environments eating disorders occur in. Treasure Coast Food Bank

To actualize its mission, Treasure Coast Food Bank utilizes two measurable strategies to alleviate hunger among the more than 100,000 individuals found to be food insecure in our community. First strategy: we share millions of nutritious meals each year with food-insecure individuals through food distribution programming. Meals, which have been procured, stored, and inventoried by TCFB, are shared seven days a week through TCFB-coordinated mobile pantry distributions, our child nutrition programs during the school year and over the summer, with more than 250 collaborative partner organizations (human service agencies, churches) that serve low-income clients who are in need of immediate relief from hunger, and other programs. TCFB has formed these collaborations in order to create a highly-efficient emergency food distribution network that extends into the hundreds of diverse neighborhoods that constitute Florida’s Treasure Coast and Okeechobee County. Second strategy: TCFB manages direct-service programs that ultimately help people transcend the need for government and charity support and thus ultimately, achieve long-term self-sufficiency. These programs are known as our “Strengthen Individuals & Families Programming.”

Mid-South Spay & Neuter Services is a 501(c)3 non-profit clinic dedicated to reducing pet overpopulation and high euthanasia rates by offering affordable spay and neuter surgeries to the public. The clinic has operated since 2005 and has performed over 35,000 spay and neuter procedures and counting. In addition, the clinic offers age-appropriate pet vaccinations and micro-chipping, which are done at time of surgery.
