Advocates for Children

Advocates for Children exists because every child deserves the opportunity to grow up safe, thriving, and loved. Since 1977, we have walked alongside children, youth, and families facing abuse, neglect, homelessness, trauma, and other life challenges throughout Northwest Georgia. We believe that when children are protected, families are strengthened, and communities invest in their youngest members, lives are changed for generations. Our work extends beyond responding to crisis. We provide prevention, advocacy, housing, family support, and therapeutic services that help children find safety, empower youth to build independent futures, and equip families with the tools they need to thrive. By addressing immediate needs while creating long-term pathways to stability, we help break cycles of abuse, poverty, and instability before they continue into the next generation. Each year, more than 20,000 children, youth, and family members across 11 counties turn to Advocates for Children for hope, healing, and opportunity. None of this happens alone. It happens because individuals, volunteers, businesses, churches, and community partners choose to stand with us. Together, we are protecting children, empowering youth, uplifting families, and building communities where every child has the chance for a safe and loving home.
