To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Since 2001, the Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster has worked in youth development with young people ages 8-18, from many economic, social and family circumstances. In August 2008, the organization consolidated its separate Fitchburg and Leominster clubhouses to a single location on the Fitchburg-Leominster line and received its charter from the Boys & Girls Club of America that December.
It is situated in a former private school on conservation land in a residential setting—a unique site for a Boys & Girls Club clubhouse. In addition to the 8 acres owned by the Club, the Doyle Conservation Center (operated by the Trustees of the Reservations) provides more than 160 additional acres on which to play and study. The facility itself is well equipped with numerous classrooms, meeting places, a full gymnasium, and a full Teen Center.
Our after school program is different from other after school programs. Our focus is science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM). The program also offers health, nutrition, community service, entrepreneurship, and of course, recreation and sports. The Club provides youth an extra opportunity to practice and reinforce the skills and concepts they learn in school.
Each day, programs in our five core areas are offered, giving members access to activities related to Health and Life Skills, The Arts, Education & Career Development, Sports, Fitness & Recreation, and Character & Leadership Development.
Where We Work
What We Do
"When I'm at the Club, I'm home." That's what Laura, one of our teen Club members, writes when asked how she feels about the club. And we think that's pretty awesome. Growing up in today's world isn't easy for anyone, and for many kids it's even tougher than you might think. 20% (one in five) children spend time alone and unsupervised during after-school hours. 20% of young people live in poverty. 20% of kids won't graduate on time. But thankfully, with your help, for the youth in our community, our Club is a safe haven that feels like a second home. Our Club is a place where kids are valued, have a sense of belonging, a safe environment where they can succeed, participate in activities that keep them active and healthy, form relationships with caring mentors, develop friendships with kids from all backgrounds that last a lifetime. Our programs ensure our youth stay on track to graduate from high school on time and prepares them to succeed in college and their careers. When school is out, our Club is in.
