CanCare envisions a world where no one faces cancer alone. We provide hope and healing to the cancer community by ensuring that anyone facing cancer can have a survivor by their side. Founded in 1990 in Houston, TX, CanCare provides extensive training to cancer survivors and cancer caregivers to provide emotional support for the cancer journey. We then match cancer patients and their families using a robust algorithm that includes cancer type, stage, age, gender, and other factors, providing the best match for the client requesting support. While CanCare is based in Houston, TX, we support cancer patients and their families in all 50 states and have survivor volunteers in 28 states. We are the largest emotional support organization for cancer patients and their families in Houston, TX, and one of the largest in the US. We serve about 10,000 cancer patients and their families each year with emotional support.
