Children's Future

Originally starting life as an orphanage, Children’s Future International (CFI) solely delivers community-based comprehensive education, child protection, and well-being programs to children from vulnerable and resource-deprived families in a rural community outside the city of Battambang, Cambodia. CFI has demonstratable success in breaking the cycle of poverty by utilizing innovative social work approaches, reducing service dependency, and providing long-term safe and sustainable solutions which empower children and their families. Using strength-based models of intervention, CFI has a commitment to participatory, evidence-based practice approaches, ensuring families lead the decision-making. Clear service pathways identify children of the highest risk and ensure the correct services are provided, for as long as they are required. CFI has been using skills and experience learned from transforming from a residential service to supporting other orphanages in this challenging transition. CFI understands this is not an easy task and comprehensive support is required for this to be successful. As part of this CFI is working in partnership with orphanages to create gateway assessments and safe reintegration plans, reducing admissions and supporting successful reintegration back to family-based care.
