CAC's mission is to bring together the Sandy Springs and Dunwoody communities to provide compassionate assistance for neighbors in need by providing financial support, helping to meet basic needs and promoting self-reliance.
The Community Assistance Center (CAC) has filled a vital role in the communities of Sandy Springs and Dunwoody, Georgia since 1987. CAC was founded by area congregations seeking to establish an independent agency which could respond to requests for emergency assistance from neighbors in need. Since its inception CAC has been committed to providing basic services and preventing homelessness in this community. CAC progressively engages clients in working towards greater self-sufficiency.
Where We Work
What We Do
Community Assistance Center (CAC) works to improve conditions caused by poverty, whether that poverty is permanent or temporary, focusing on hunger and homeless prevention. CAC is a proactive agent of change in the community and in the lives of those served. CAC helps by providing basic necessities - food, clothing and shelter - to families who are experiencing a financial crisis. Once those basic needs are taken care of, CAC helps individuals and families on their journey to improve their economic status.
