Doves, Inc. believes that all people have the right to live without violence or the fear of violence. To preserve that right, our mission is to provide immediate safety and shelter for individuals whose lives have been affected by domestic violence and sexual assault; to empower victims to become survivors, regaining control of their lives and realizing their individual potential which violence has threatened to destroy.
Doves, Inc. began in 1980 by providing services to victims of domestic violence. In response to the crisis caused by sexual assault, additional services were started in 1985. As the reported incidents of domestic violence increased, the shelter opened it's doors to families in crisis in 1988. Doves, Inc. was built by the compassion of a community and the commitment of volunteers. Throughout the years, additions have been made to that solid foundation and the results are a growing staff and a shelter with the capacity to house sixteen.
Where We Work
What We Do
Over the last 30 years, the agency has become a comprehensive service provider for individuals who have been abused physically, emotionally, sexually or financially and families and communities impacted by domestic violence. In addition to offering services that ensure the safety of abuse survivors and their children, DOVE, Inc. works to eliminate domestic violence through preventative community outreach and education.
