Our Mission

Tikkun Olam exists to create abundance of food through innovation and creation of sustainable food models in communities that include inclusive research, community engagement and empowerment, growing food in communities, food education and the attraction of food related businesses to the community.

Who We Are

Tikkun Olam Global was founded 12 years ago to create food security in Detroit and southeastern Michigan. Through our partnership with Trader Joe's we provide weekly boxed food relief through eight distribution sites to over 400 families - 4500 people. We are empowering people in our communities to create a model for food security in their community through food relief, education - cooking, nutrition and gardening classes, growing of food in the community and attracting food related businesses to the community. We firmly believe that if we take care of each other and work together everyone in our community can eat.
