F2FN was founded in 1988 by a noted pediatric rheumatologist, Dr. Earl Brewer, to aid families in navigating the complex Houston medical system. A short time later in 1993, a group of young parents of children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) came together and expanded his vision to ensure a disability label would not determine a child’s future
