Our Mission

Who We Are
Hill Country Crisis Council’s mission is supporting the needs of victims and survivors of domestic and family violence, sexual assault, and child abuse by offering easily accessible, community-based, trauma informed services through phone, email, walk in, or scheduled contact. We recognize that the first steps taken to leave an abusive relationship are difficult and dangerous, and that for most survivors, it takes many tries to initiate contact with available resources. Accessible service locations and hours established in each county is critical to assure that when a survivor is ready to reach out, a supportive response is available. Our first line of response is a crisis hotline staffed 24/7, 365 days a year by trained staff. We receive an average of 100 calls per month from persons requesting information about available resources, entrance into counseling services, or emergency shelter. All callers and walk-ins are met with a trauma informed, client centered approach that puts first priority on the safety of the person in need. Our second line of response is face-to-face advocacy and therapy services offered in all counties. We maintain offices in Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Boerne and Bandera, supporting our approach that accessible, community-based services are best suited to meet survivor need.
