Howard Ecoworks Inc

Howard EcoWorks focuses on stormwater management and workforce development. The work includes rain garden and bayscape construction as well as tree plantings, stream restorations, forest invasive removal, and more. The work is carried out by participants of both the UpLift and READY workforce development programs. UpLift is an entry level position for recent college graduates, while READY participants are aged 16-25 and typically appeals to younger participants. Both programs are centered around underserved communities and offer professional development opportunities as well as field trips to meet experts and experience work activities within the environmental field. Recently that has included trips to a water reclamation plant and a brownfield site, as well as electrofishing and shell shaking activities. While the work itself is important to our company and our mission, the development of environmental interest and, in the case of UpLift, job placement at the end of the programs are central to our work.
