Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union

Since 1927, the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has dedicated itself to serving female student-athletes across the state of Iowa through interscholastic athletic competition. Over the last 90 years, the IGHSAU has positioned itself as a leader among high school athletic associations across the country. The IGHSAU is the only state activity association in the nation solely devoted to promoting, directing and regulating interscholastic athletics for junior high and high school girls. Our mission is to govern fair, safe and sportsmanlike interscholastic competition that emphasizes the educational enhancement of all of participants. Participation in interscholastic athletics provides young women the opportunity to grow as leaders both in the classroom and on the field of play.
