Our Mission
Laulima Pahoa is a successful volunteer non-profit unincorporated association established in the County and State of Hawai'i in 2016. The specific purposes for which this corporation is organized include, but are not limited to: Improving the quality of life in Pahoa Village and Puna communities by inspiring and empowering the people of Pahoa and Puna to become integral parts of improving the community by, eliminating negative elements (crime, vandalism, drug- and alcohol-abuse, graffiti, littering, etc.), strengthening and creating positive elements (youth programs, village beautification, educational, arts and recreational programs for all ages, economic, community development, homesteading education, substance abuse treatment programs, services for the elderly, homeless and infirm, cultural education and celebration programs to facilitate better appreciation and understanding of the Native Hawaiian traditions, beliefs and heritage and to create a creative outlet for the people of Pahoa and Puna, and to bring life back into the Lower East Rift Zone (LERZ) , to help conserve and restore our vital native habitats, as Hawaii is the endangered species capital of the world and permanently incorporated into endangered and threatened articles of incorporation , so that we pave the way for generations to come to protect our planet, and more specifically, the very threatened natural habitat that is the Lower East Rift Zone of Hawai’i island.
