Our Mission

Our mission is to advance society’s understanding of learning and the profound role it plays in all our lives. We are founded on the principle that “nothing is more important to our children’s futures than how well they can learn when they get there.” We believe that “stewarding the health of our children’s learning” should be the core principle of educating and parenting. We create free educational technology —The Online Learning Safety Net (OLSN) and the Magic Ladder Library — and we conduct professional learning programs—The Children of the Code Project and Learning into Learning Boot Camps.

Who We Are

Learning Stewards was founded in 2009. The organization began as a platform to extend David Boulton's earlier work on learning (see Implicity.org), his educator “Boot Camps“, and to continue the research, public resource dissemination, and professional development / learning work of the Children of the Code Project. In 2015, Learning Stewards began its current focus on the Online Learning Safety Net and the Magic Ladder Library.
