Our mission is to empower at-risk youth in North Texas to reach their full potential through tutoring, mentoring, and faith-building.
Who We Are
In 2015, Tom and Nancy Cooper set out to make a difference in the lives of North Texas children. They recognized that providing support during foundational learning of elementary school and the development of academic skills within a young student’s life would foster resilience. They were aware of how crucial the development of reading, writing, and math skills was in young students’ lives and how detrimental it could be for a young person to fall through the cracks.
It was because of Tom and Nancy Cooper’s determination to make a difference in the lives of the young people of North Texas that New Horizons of North Texas came to fruition.
Today, New Horizons of North Texas program seeks to support students in a unique and holistic manner. New Horizons of North Texas addresses the needs of North Texas children and youth through no-cost after-school, summer programs, and a Christmas Outreach program in Dallas and Tarrant Counties.
