Our Mission

The mission of Paralyzed Veterans of America, Texas Chapter is to serve veterans with spinal cord injury/disease, and individuals with disabilities, by providing programs that build a better future for them so they may be active in the community and live life to its fullest.

Who We Are

Paralyzed Veterans of America, Texas Chapter (also known as “Texas PVA”) was established in 1972 and currently serves veterans in San Antonio, Austin, Houston, and Corpus Christi. From supporting important health issues to connecting veterans to resources and programs, Texas PVA is a multifaceted, fully committed advocate for veterans with spinal cord injury and disease (SCI/D) and their spouses. We are a member organization looking out for its members as well as all people with disabilities. Membership in Texas PVA is free and open to honorably discharged veterans who have suffered a spinal cord injury or disease (such as MS, ALS), whether it is service connected in origin or not. Currently, Texas PVA has a total membership of 578 veterans, with most of them residing in Southeast Texas.
