Our Mission

Our Mission Our mission is empower the poor to be and to create change. Charged with the words of Jesus, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:18-19),” we aim to liberate the poor into the fullness of life. Our Vision We do church, differently. Founded on the teachings of Jesus, we minister to the poor — the least of these, and meet needs in a sustainable manner. We don’t just talk the talk. We walk the walk, and are changing New York City’s poorest district “sidewalk by sidewalk, corner by corner.

We seek to, from within, improve the present and produce a sustainable future for the poor. We are a Jesus centered pan-denominational and multicultural church beyond walls shepherded by Minister Karmen M. Smith. Our principle focus is the Morrisania section of The South Bronx, and will expand gradually.
