Who We Are
Every person deserves hope, dignity, and the opportunity to thrive, regardless of an HIV diagnosis. That belief is the foundation of Positive People Network Inc. (PPN).
Founded in 2019 by long-term HIV survivor and nationally recognized advocate Alecia Tramel-McIntyre, PPN was created after she recognized a critical need for authentic peer support, education, and leadership opportunities for people living with HIV. After living openly with HIV for more than 30 years, Alecia transformed her personal journey into a mission to help others move beyond fear, overcome stigma, and discover that there is life after diagnosis.
Today, Positive People Network is a trusted, peer-led nonprofit serving South Florida while building partnerships across the United States and internationally. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for people living with and impacted by HIV through education, prevention, advocacy, peer support, leadership development, and community engagement.
We believe that the people most impacted by HIV deserve a seat at every table where decisions are made. Our work empowers individuals to become advocates, educators, mentors, and leaders within their own communities while addressing health inequities and reducing HIV-related stigma.
Through innovative programs such as Stop the Silence Ambassadors, PPN SWAT (Sisters With A Testimony), TransSis, Pozitive EYEs, Positive Youth Rising, Men's Support Services, and TransParent, we provide safe spaces for healing, education, wellness, and personal growth. Our initiatives connect people to HIV testing, treatment, peer navigation, mental wellness resources, leadership training, and supportive communities that help them thrive.
Since our founding, we have impacted thousands of individuals through community outreach events, educational workshops, advocacy campaigns, HIV awareness initiatives, support groups, and strategic partnerships. We proudly collaborate with healthcare providers, government agencies, faith communities, educational institutions, and nonprofit organizations to expand access to care and create lasting systems change.
Our vision extends far beyond HIV. We are building stronger communities where health equity, compassion, inclusion, and justice are realities for everyone. We believe that when people are empowered with knowledge, support, and opportunity, entire communities become healthier and stronger.
Our motto says it best:
There Is Life After Diagnosis—LIVE IT!
