Our Mission

The mission of Special Gifts Theatre is to foster self-confidence, social, speech and language skills in individuals with disabilities, using educational and therapeutic techniques with the stage as the platform, integrating creativity and fun. Who We Are

We are the only organization in the Chicago area that provides educational and therapeutic theatre arts programming for youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our programming is educationally and therapeutically based to use the stage as a platform for skill development with social skills, speech and language, self esteem and confidence. Emphasis is placed on the student's abilities not their disability. SGT was founded in 2000.
