PANZI FOUNDATION

PANZI FOUNDATION

In 1999, Dr. Denis Mukwege founded the Panzi Hospital in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. The region has been devastated by war and an epidemic of sexualized violence for twenty years. Today, the Panzi Hospital serves more than 400,000 constituents in the Ibanda Health Zone. The US based Panzi Foundation makes strategic investments at Panzi Hospital and Panzi Foundation DRC. We also develop and engage in strategic advocacy to end violence against women and girls in the DRC and around the world.

SOFIAS HOPE

SOFIAS HOPE

Sofia's Hope was inspired by the life and death of Sofia Blanco at the age of thirteen. And it is in her memory that we will fight cancer by raising childhood cancer awareness and the fact that children are dying every day waiting for promising new treatments; funding childhood cancer research and advances in treatment, especially as it relates to their long-term effects (including prevention, detection and treatment); and offering programs that enhance the quality of life of children with cancer.
